Basel Recycling Facility

We will take a tour inside the Basel Kehrichtverwertungsanlage (KVA), which burns around 210,00 tonnes of garbage per year and provides heat and power to the largest district heating network in Switzerland. 

When: Saturday 11th May 2024

Time: 14:00–16:00. Please arrive 10 minutes early to pay the trip organisers.

Where: Holzkraftwerk Basel AG, Hagenaustrasse 70, 4056 Basel. Link to Google Maps.

Who: Members and non-members. Minimum age 10 years. Not suitable for persons with reduced mobility.

Cost: Approximately CHF 15, depending on number of participants

Organisers: Michelle Lauterbach (registration) and Julie Telford (Climate Change Group leader)

Please wear long pants and closed, flat shoes. Participants will be provided with safety helmets and vests.
