The paintings of Kevin Hill – an artist who grew up in London and has now lived in Basel for 50 years – are characterized by a fantastic sense of the play of light and shadow. Using ink, brush, and pen, he paints – among other things – landscapes from his native Northern Ireland, as well as scenes from his Basel surroundings. His independent, yet loving view of familiar Basel motifs, such as Schützenmatt Park or St. Paul's Church, allows the city's beauty to be felt in all its facets.
