Step by Step Instructions

If you are an S-Status holder, then read the information about the free trial and reduced membership fee below first.

1. Complete the Membership Application Form

2. Pay the membership fee as stated on the Membership Application Form

Please state the name and address of the Centrepoint member clearly on any payment that you make (for example in the "message for payee" field).

If you cannot make a payment via e-banking you can pay your membership fee in cash at any Swiss bank or Post Office using a pre-printed Centrepoint QR-code payment slip (available to collect at the Centrepoint Front Desk)

For security reasons it is not possible to use cash at Centrepoint to pay your membership fee.

Membership fees are not refundable.

3. Wait for the Confirmation Email (up to three weeks)

Once you have completed the online application form and paid your membership fee, the Centrepoint Membership Team will process your application. Once your membership has been processed, you will receive a confirmation email, followed by your membership card, which will be sent by post. Please allow up to three weeks to receive your confirmation email. Membership cards are printed and posted once a month, usually at the end of the month.

Note: For the yearly renewal payments you will receive an email, including details about how to pay. It really helps us if you pay your fees promptly.

Free Trial and Reduced Membership Fee for S-Status Holders

How do I apply for a 1-month free trial?

Go to the Membership Application Form, choose ‘Membership Level’ ‘S-Status’ and then complete the required information.

May I include my family members?

Yes. Immediate family members may be included in your application at no extra cost if they live at the same address.

Which activities can I join during my free trial?

You may join any of the activities that Centrepoint offers.

How much does it cost to join groups and activities?

As a member of Centrepoint (trial member or full member), there is no extra cost to attend most groups and activities. Some activities, such as the monthly apéro and visits to places of interest, have an extra cost. You will find the details in the Horizon Magazine and the Weekly Briefing email.

What will happen after the month’s free trial?

One week before your free trial is due to end, you will receive an email inviting you to become a full member of Centrepoint with information about how to pay. If you require assistance, contact Centrepoint’s Ukrainian Ambassador at this address: viktoria.parkhomenko[at]centrepoint.ch.

How much does it cost to become a full member?

With S-Status you may join Centrepoint at a special price. We kindly ask that you pay a minimum of CHF 20.-. However, if you can afford more, you can pay any amount up to the standard price of CHF 110.-. Your membership will be valid for the remaining 11 months.

Does the special offer have a limit to the number places available?

Yes. There is a limit to the number of places being offered at the special price. If you apply and the offer is full, you will receive an email to invite you to join a waiting list and to be informed should places become available. Of course, you are also welcome to pay the standard price of CHF 110.- at any time and become a Centrepoint member.

What will happen after the first year of membership?

You will be invited to renew your membership after one year. With S-Status you may join again for the same minimum of CHF20.-, provided there are still places available at the special offer price.

Membership Information and Policy

A Centrepoint Membership is open to any person who wishes to use Centrepoint’s programmes and facilities and supports the purposes of the organisation.

1. Membership Types Offered by Centrepoint

1.1 Standard Membership

All household members are covered by this membership type. A household incorporates any group of people living together at the same address.

Fee: CHF 110.- per 12-month period from the month of registration.

1.2 Student Membership

A student membership is granted if the member is registered as a full-time student, unsupported by a partner in the same household. A student membership is individual and cannot be held by more than one person. Proof of student status must be submitted at the time of registration.

Fee: CHF 65.- per 12-month period from the month of registration.

2. Membership Fees

2.1

Changes to annual fees are proposed and approved at the Centrepoint Annual General Meeting.

2.2

Members who have not paid their membership fee will be reminded to do so once by email. If we have no valid email address, then only the original invoice will be sent. If no payment is received members are removed from the active membership roll within three months of their 'renewal date' and totally deleted from the membership database shortly after this.

2.3

Membership fees are not refundable.

3. Membership Rights and Responsibilities

3.1

At the Annual General Meeting each membership shall have one vote, regardless of the number of people (individual members) covered by the membership.

3.2

The Governing Board reserve the right to expel any member who acts in a manner prejudicial to the interests of Centrepoint.

4. Code of Conduct

4.1

Centrepoint expects its Members to behave with respect of other members and to the wider community we live in. It expects Members attending events/programmes to respect the other attendees and to behave considerately towards event/programme leaders.

4.2

Centrepoint expects its Members to respect not only people, but also their property and that of Centrepoint. Parents are requested to supervise their children. All Members are expected to adhere to Centrepoint’s policies and guidelines.

5. Member Complaints and Suggestions

Centrepoint is very keen to listen to complaints and suggestions from Members and Stakeholders to ensure it can continue to develop its community and services. Complaints and suggestions should be made in writing to the relevant Board Member or to the Centrepoint President. We will acknowledge any complaints or suggestions made.

6. Personal Accident Insurance

Centrepoint expects its members to be covered by personal accident insurance.
